William Gallas has today confirmed his intent to stay here this season…

‘I am at Arsenal, my contract is still valid for a year, so I am an Arsenal player,’ Gallas said. We have not talked about renewing the contract, but I am relaxed and looking forward to next season with Arsenal.’

Following on from news yesterday that Adebayor is looking to leave the club, his agent, Stephane Courbis, has talked about the interest from other clubs.

“As of today, I have not even got evidence to speak of presumed interest from Chelsea and Manchester United,” Courbis revealed. “It’s a given fact that Carlo Ancelotti likes the player seeing that last year he tried to sign him for Milan, although Chelsea have not contacted us.

He also revealed that there is some serious interest from an “important team”… but who could that be?

“We have not received any calls, not from Milan or Ancelotti. Another team has contacted us, but I cannot say anything, it’s a very important team.”

Okay, Arsene didn’t really say that, but he did say that the player is a handful for any defence in the world…

“Nicklas has made big improvements since the start of the season. He has become an important player for this club,” Wenger said in the July edition of the official Arsenal magazine. When Nicklas is really switched on and focused, he is a handful for any defence in the world. He has shown that in the second part of the season.

“People forget how young he is, but I am sure he has won many people over in the second half of the season.”

So, amongst the angst that many people have felt against Abou Diaby for his bad performances last season, the midfielder has taken this on board and appointed a personal trainer to help him sort out his fitness.

“The English league is very demanding, so Abou’s aim is to improve physically to be stronger and more resistant.”
